  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 6 large eggs, room temperature
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 1 cup whole milk, room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300F (150C). Grease and flour a bundt or tube pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the room temperature butter until smooth. Gradually mix in granulated sugar for about 5-7 minutes until fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Gradually add sifted flour and milk alternately, starting and ending with flour. Mix until just combined; do not overbeat.
  5. Stir in vanilla and optional almond extract.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 1 hour and 25-35 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool for 15-20 minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.
