  • 4 Cinnamon sticks (or 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon)
  • 4 Vanilla beans (split and scraped) or 4 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 Star anises (optional)
  • 4 teaspoons Loose-leaf black tea or 4 black tea bags (optional)
  • 2 cups Milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • Honey or other sweetener of choice

Instructions

  1. Bring water to a boil in a small pot.
  2. Add cinnamon sticks and vanilla beans to the boiling water, then cover with a lid and turn off the heat. If using star anise, add it now.
  3. Allow the mixture to steep for about 10 minutes.
  4. If desired, add black tea and brew for an additional 3-5 minutes based on preferred strength.
  5. In another pot, gently heat the milk until warm but not boiling.
  6. Strain the infused liquid into the warm milk to combine.
  7. Sweeten to taste with honey or preferred sweetener and stir well.
